Childhood memories-Heaven on Earth!

"Of all the things I miss in my life, are those childhood days the most "my grandma exclaimed while I asked her about her childhood days. Childhood memories are a treasure to everyone, it is very hard to forget about our sweet memories. I could see, she was more vibrant and her eyes were dazzling.

She told me how she spent those days playing under trees, even in mud along with her siblings. Missing those days was one of the things she regrets for. Kho-Kho, jubilee and lagori were the games she was keen in. While lagori was being played everyday…Kho-Kho and Jubilee were their weekend games. She was so much interested in lagori that she even explained me the way how they played it.

Lagori is a game played between two teams in an wide area involving a ball and a pile of flat stones. A member of one team throws the ball at a pile of stones to knock them over. The team members then try to restore the pile of stones while the opposing team throws the ball at them. If the ball touches a seeker, he is out and his team continues without him. But a team member can always safeguard himself by touching the opposite team member before the ball hits him.

After all this she did not forget to advise me to try playing these games at least on a weekend.Childhood memories are really heaven on this earth, and I assume what my grandma said was true.

Reviews on the movie-Stoning Of Soraya

The stoning of Soraya movie is amazingly shot.It shines a light on today's society.Especially on how women are being treated even today.
What happened to Soraya is still happening even today. This movie helped me realise that I was really lucky because the place where I live does not encourage nor do they practise this.

The movie is directed by Cyrus Nowrasteh; written by Mr. Nowrasteh and Betsy Giffen Nowrasteh, based on the book by Freidoune Sahebjam, produced by Stephen McEveety and John Shepherd; released by Roadside Attractions and Mpower Pictures.

The movie is all about how a woman is being treated unjustly. The woman is innocent of the charge of adultery brought against her by her husband, just because of his decision to marry a 14yr old girl.
In the movie one of the horrific moments is when the father encourages her two eldest boys to throw stones at their own helpless mother.
They consider practicing such heinous acts is well pleasing to god. Whereas man creates laws and thinks he is doing justice for the society.

I think everyone should take an effort to watch this movie and uphold the rights of a woman.

Are Traditional Games in the verge of extinct??!

Those were the days when I used to play under trees, get myself muddy, and get scolding from my mother. While I was in school I was very much interested in playing outdoor games with my friends especially during my afternoon lunch break. I used to wait for this hour skip my meals and run to play. It was more of fun and this also kept me united with my friends even in midst of those small little fights.
I was more interested in playing jubilee and ice-spice. As soon as I reached home I used to run out to play along with my cousins. Playing ludo and carom was one of the indoor games we played especially when it rained outside. But as days grew I really started missing these games. I no longer play them anymore. I missed the fun I had in playing those games. I wish I would have my childhood days back. I recollect my childhood days now and laugh at them just by remembering the fun I had in playing those games especially by those small fights I had while playing with my friends. But now a days it’s been a tendency to forget them.
We no longer see children playing these "traditional games”. They are much busier than we are in this competitive world, less of fun and more of goals in winning this competition of life. The explosive growth of social media, smart phone is transforming the younger children's lives. Now  fun according to the younger generation is individually playing cell phone games or play stations. They are very much into it. These games make them self-centered and aggressive. They have the fear of loosing the game which later on instills in them the fear of losing life's battle's as they grow up.
The unity and friendship we had in our childhood days is no longer seen. Parents are very keen in making their children excel right from the childhood days rather than encouraging them in enjoying their childhood days.
Now all we can do is just recall back our childhood days because we can no longer see them and wish that our future generation is able to make good use of these “traditional games”. We at least remember our childhood days by the fun we had....but by what will the present young children recall and laugh at their childhood days????
